Celebrating 25th Years of Operation

Supporting homework routines, guiding after-school supervision

The before-and-after-school program at Precious Babies Learning Academy Inc. provides supervised care for school-age children between 6 and 12 years old in Pennsylvania before school begins and after the regular school day ends. This service is commonly used by working families who need structured childcare coverage outside standard school hours. The program includes bus transportation coordination, homework support, monitored recreational time, supervised activities, and free meals and snacks.

How It Works:

Before and after-school care programs generally operate through structured scheduling and supervision practices such as:

  • Parents coordinate enrollment schedules based on school hours, transportation needs, and authorized pick-up arrangements.
  • Children will be transported to and from local schools depending on route availability and scheduling.
  • Staff supervises arrival, attendance tracking, snack periods, homework time, and recreational activities throughout the program.
  • Children participate in structured indoor or outdoor activities appropriate for their age group and school schedule.
  • Families are commonly informed about schedule adjustments, transportation updates, behavior concerns, or program activities as needed.

What to Expect

Before and after-school programs usually follow routines that align with local school schedules and transportation timing. Families can expect supervised transitions between school and childcare along with designated periods for homework, meals or snacks, and recreational activities. Clear communication regarding attendance, transportation, and schedule coordination is an important part of maintaining consistency throughout the school week.

Note to Aftercare Parents

  1. All after-school children must arrive at the center no later than 7:30 AM. Parents must sign the PBLA Bus Policy for the child to ride on bus.
  2. We must receive a phone call from the parent that state your child will not be picked up from school by PBLA.
  3. Parents are responsible for providing a two-hour notice in the event that your child will not be attending aftercare.
  4. All after-school children must be dropped off and picked up by a responsible person thirteen years of age or older. The drop-off person must escort the child to the assigned classroom. The child must be signed in and out.
